In case you missed some recent Marketing Fix issues, here are my two personal favourites.

Marketing Fix #26 | Welcome to the Era of Subscriptions, A.K.A. order a puppy for 5 hours

Marketing Fix #23 | Social Media Dilemmas of 2025 – Go ALL IN or ALL OUT?

πŸͺ‘ Needles in a haystack

The special shout-out section for things that cut through the internet noise + what I've been reading, listening, watching, liking, thinking.

πŸͺ‘ A definitive guide to marketing attribution. In this week's Growth Unhinged newsletter, Growth marketing leader Tim Dalrymple shared straightforward advice on marketing attribution models. If you've been struggling with tracking and evaluating your marketing activities' ROI, this one's a must read.

πŸͺ‘ Brand Social Trend Report: Q1 2025. I feel like the Link In Bio newsletter by Rachel Karten is getting a mention in every Marketing Fix. But it's really that good! This week, Rachel published another quarterly social media report, with unique thoughts on Influencer fatigue, anime trend, "fewer is more" posting rule, and brands joining SubStack. Read here (7-days free trial available).

πŸͺ‘ The can't-do-without tools of 6,500 tech professionals. Lenny Rachitsky shared the tech crowd's top picks across 12 categories in his LinkedIn post. There were many I hadn't heard about before, and now certainly want to try. E.g. Gamma for presentations and Mimestream for emails.

πŸͺ‘ Reading rec: Granta magazine – The Spring issue of Granta magazine is out, under the superbly enticing topical flag of Dead Friends. Featuring texts by Anne Carson, Renata Adler, Gary Indiana, and Joshua Cohen among others, I can't wait to get my hands on it.

πŸͺ‘ Closing thought: Who else is suffering from LinkedIn fatigue? If you've been using LinkedIn to keep up with industry news and your friends' new jobs, perhaps you, too, have the feeling that the platform has gone rotting. There's too much content, content, content – 80% of it produced by AI. So I decided to check it less frequently, and use my time for the meaningful things. Like reading full-length articles. Like reading literature and poetry. Like 1:1 meetings with other marketers. Like accepting student queries to help them with their BA and MA projects.

Hi fellow marketer, This issue of the bi-weekly Marketing Fix newsletter will explore our growing dependence – and expenditure – on subscription-based services. If you find the idea compelling, please forward this email to a friend or colleague to extend the discussion. Welcome to the Era of Subscriptions In the early 2020s, most of us had a manageable number of subscription-based articles embellishing our lives: B2B software and gym memberships. In 2025, most of us are paying for 20+...

Marketing Fix #25

This week, LinkedIn was awash with bad design examples A few hours after Chat GPT announced GPT-4o with image generation features, LinkedIn feed was awash with posts showing a mediocre visual created with the tool. Each promised a magical AI prompt in exchange for a comment. And thousands of people did sheepishly comment... Let me give you the actual prompt used by the self-proclaimed "experts" (example) so you won't have to comment: "Upload a screenshot of another brand's marketing creative...

Marketing Fix #24

I found an AI use case I like. And it's not saving but wasting time. But first, here are two new freebies I created this week, with non-gated access to Marketing Fix readers: 10x Chapter #1 of Marketing Audit Questions (Notion) LinkedIn Content Planning Template (Google Sheets) Also, I'm launching a new marketing course (!) on B2B Ad Creatives. More on this later. I just wanted to change my blog's theme & aesthetics... This week, I made the questionable decision to change my marketing blog's...
